Science Stop : Simple Machines Are Useful!

Once again, Mr. JR has contributed to our classroom learning!

Check out his collaborations about Matter and Light

Mrs. Yollis met Mr. JR at the Google Teacher Academy in NYC, and they planned these science segments when there.

The topic for this session was SIMPLE MACHINES!
A simple machine is a basic tool used to do work.

Mrs. Yollis shared this great site about levers

Notice the fulcrum and the lever.

Tweezers have a lever

A bicycle wheel is a wheel and axle.

An incline plane wrapped around a cylinder is a screw.

Do you see any simple machines in your house?
(incline plane, wedge, screw, lever, wheel and axle, or pulley)

Tell us about them!

Which one do you use the most?

Do you have any science questions for Mr. JR?
